Brasilian Salsa + Antoni Gaudí i Cornet = Parc Guell
"Each musical style provided a unique lens in which to view an architect’s design process and their resulting built form. Brazilian Salsa directly influenced Gaudi’s Parc Guelle."
Antoni Gaudi i Cornet was a Catalonian architect born in spain. (Note: spain was a Moorish territory that had been conquered by African General Tarik ibn Ziyad away from europeans.) It has been noted that Gaudi i Cornets' loves were architecture, nature, religion and his town of Catalonia.
Catalonia and architecture are evident in this design....... because Parc Guell is located in the Gràcia district of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain and it is a form of architecture.
Nature is very evident in all of his works given his love for all things curvilinear, also bear in mind that NOTHING in nature is rectilinear. This and the fact that the curvature of the bench surfaces in Parc Guell were influenced and resemble the "shape of buttocks left by a naked workman sitting in wet clay". It is safe to say that when Gaudi i Cornet loved nature he loved all forms of it hueman and otherwise.
Studying brasilian salsa and its movements, one can understand how the interpretive movements and steps can come to motivate a person to design something that is open and free flowing much like elements of Parc Guell.
Okay keep the movements in mind and view various portions of Park Guell. Do you see the similarities to the hueman form? (All images courtesy of Judy Song)

Notice the bumps near the weephole and backing of the bench. That was inspired by you sitting in the sand unclothed

The underarm of the Parc Guell, imagine multiple people standing in line waiting for something on without sleeves

Mimics the top of somones head, a womans breast, the top of your shoulder, kneecap. Many interpretations

This is the perfect example of the hueman form. It appears to be a person in the praise position. Hence, Gaduis' love for religion
We hope you enjoyed this glance at Gaduis' artistic expression with Parc Guell. We invite your opinion and your interpretation on this very impressive architecture. Be respectful even moreso be engaging with your thoughts.
